Halloween Food

Post by Tamara »

So every year for Halloween we used to do Chili, hot apple cider and donuts. My family had that growing up, I made it while my kids were growing up and we did it for the grandkids for quite a few years. Well it seems not all the kids are into chili so last year we did pizza. Also mummy dogs! This year I want to do something even more different.
What is your go to Halloween food? I need ideas :D :D :D

I have done chicken tortilla soup for Halloween before. My family lives near me, so they'd stop by for soup on their way through my neighborhood trick or treating. It's a super easy recipe in the crockpot. I put in one of those crockpot liners in my crockpot, let it cook for like 5 hours, and BAM....DONE! Recipe is below.

1) 2 cans tomato/green chiles
2) 2 cans black beans
3) Fill one those cans with salsa and dump in
4) Can of chopped green chiles
5) Can of tomato sauce
6) I don't usually add chicken, but if I do, I bake it and throw it in at the end. My friend puts it in raw and cooks it all day. It's completely cooked when she's ready to serve.
7) We usually put a little sour cream and cheddar cheese on top. And serve on top of tortilla chips of course. :)
