I loved reading all about your memories yesterday. Memories are what scrappers are all about.

Today's topic....BEVERAGES. Hot cocoa, eggnog, tea, coffee, cider, other? ...what's your go-to?

Here's a recipe that I pulled out of an old file.

Citrus Slush
my family's favorite
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 c water
12 oz frozen lemonade
12 oz frozen orange juice
26 oz pineapple juice
3 c cold water
Bring sugar and 3 c of water to boil. Add frozen juices. Stir to melt. Add pineapple juice and 3 c. of water. Freeze.
(it will not freeze solid)
Scoop into a glass and add 7-up.

My favorite hot beverage is spiced cider but not just any spiced cider. I order the spice mix from the Biltmore. Absolutely the best!

We make Grinch floats. It's made the same way as a root beer float is made. The only difference is that you use Lime Sherbert and Sprite instead. I add some crushed candy canes or some peppermint pop rocks...lol.

I love the cider too and Wendy, Grinch floats sounds amazing!
Hot chocolate is my snow day go too!! We have done hot chocolate bars to several of our family Christmas parties. I shouldn't drink it but maybe once won't hurt.

These all sound so good!

I like Egg Nog - this was my mother's recipe

1 packet of Dream Whip mixed (follow directions on package)
2 eggs
2 cups of milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup Brandy (optional)
2/3 cup Rum (optional)
Beat eggs real thick, mix in both milks and vanilla.
Add rum and brandy if you want
Fold in Dream Whip

It will separate but just stir it before serving

honestly, we don't make anything special "beverage" wise here.

Wendy. . .I may be able to convince G to make the Grinch Floats with me. We all love root beer floats, and these sound yummy!

wow, these drinks all sound so yummy. No special beverages here. we have egg nogg (from a carton) with some Kahlua or just hot cocoa.

I am DEFINITELY going to have to try some of those recipes!!! :) I'll buy egg nog for Steve because he likes it but I don't really care for it. But that Grinch float sounds yummy! And the slushy sounds great too!

As for hot drinks I always keep hot chocolate and decaf chai tea (with a touch of honey and a dash of milk) on hand so we drink whichever sounds best at the time. :)

Those would work for the Elf movie!
