Trash cans, hidden behind a pantry door or cabinet door or out in the open?

My kitchen trash can is tall and slender so it sits out in the open next to the pantry door. My bathroom trash can is small so it's tucked in the bathroom closet and my scrap room trash can sits out.

All of mine are visable.

Kitchen is in the cupboard under the sink but DH always takes it out when it is full and sits in outside the cupboard to fill the bag fuller. IT drives me crazy because I am always tripping over it.
Bathroom garbages are at the back of the toilet and scraproom garbage is at the end of my island so not visable from the door view.
