July 28 - Feelin’ Groovy

Join us all month long as we celebrate the large, blended family of six children, known as the Brady Bunch. The family that everyone knows and loves! Groovy!
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing)
Since The Brady Bunch aired in the 1970s, I wanted to challenge you to create a layout with a retro/vintage/Groovy vibe! The interpretation of this is up to you, for my example I used “Retro Summer” from Simple Stories and included a fun radio sticker for my “retro” elements! Also, for fun, include any sweet treat on your page.

The cake is my sweet treat and the little chalk board is my retro embellishment. A few minutes after the top picture was taken, I had to re-ice one section of the cake. The little one in the picture couldn't resist the frosting and very carefully swiped out a perfect square on the back side of the cake.
Mother and daddy are in everyday clothes since it was a surprise for Mother. We had planned a 40th celebration and when she found out about it, she went and had herself admitted to the hospital. So this time we didn't tell her.

Used a very vintage collection here! I'm eating sweet potato casserole, and there is chocolate, marshmallows, and pie in the photo, too!

Paper from Sew Retro line. Lollypop is the sweet and the retro item is the map that is printed on the alphas.
