For this project, I was inspired by the Civil War Diorama scene found in the American Museum of Natural History in the movie "Night at the Museum."
Larry, (Ben Stiller) is instructed in the Museum Manual to, "Beat the war drum. The Union & Confederate soldiers will not battle if you get the beat right." As a former American History teacher, I loved the scenes of the Civil War Mannequins battling it out with Larry throughout the movie. So, for my second Night at the Museum project, I decided to feature pictures of my daughter on an actual Civil War Battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; once when she was two and once when she was thirteen. Since a Civil War battlefield is, in essence, an outdoor museum, my challenge to you is to create a project featuring the outdoors. Perhaps you could use pictures of a loved one at your favorite park like I did. Or maybe you could use outdoor themed patterned paper on your project. And since it is Sketch Monday, I also challenge you to use this great sketch featured last week at Sketches in Thyme. I can't wait to see what you all create!
