Saturday April 27th - Vintage 1949 Cluedo

In the Beginning....

It is a dark and stormy night. After a long drive you finally approach the front door of the Hill House Manor. You ring the doorbell and a rather large kinda creepy man answers. “Welcome to the Hill House” he mutters “they are waiting for you.” The butler leads you to the lounge where Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard & Mrs. Peacock are sitting nervously. You look around and Professor Plum pipes up. “Someone killed Mr. Boddy our host”. You begin to look at everyone in the room; it is your job to find out who killed Mr. Boddy, where he was killed and with what weapon.

Most of you have played the clue board game before. This game works a lot like that, BUT in order for you to receive clues you will need to complete the challenges posted four (4) times weekly. Not all days have been assigned clues, and some days have two....so you'll need to do as many as you can in order to get those clues. Each evening I will check the challenges completed and all you have to do is sit back and wait for your clue to be pm’d to you.

The more challenges you complete the more clues you receive. The first person to solve the crime wins. In case of a tie we will draw for a winner. Each person will get only one chance to guess so make sure you have collected all your clues.

Good Luck Detective!

Remember .... there are a total of 17 challenges / possible clues to help you solve the murder mystery, but no one (except Tammy) knows which challenges will "give you a clue". So, the more challenges you complete, the more chances you have of getting clues and solving the mystery.

So .... start scrapping, start sleuthing, and good luck to all!

For today’s challenge, we are taking inspiration from the original 1949 Cluedo board game. A little bit of history (taken from Wikipedia)… Holed up in his home in Birmingham, England, during air raids on the city during World War II, Anthony E. Pratt, an English musician and factory worker, recalled the murder mystery games played by some of his clients at private music gigs as well as the detective fiction popular at the time, most notably Agatha Christie. In 1944, Pratt applied for a patent of his invention of a murder/mystery-themed game, originally named Murder!  Shortly thereafter, Pratt and his wife, Elva Pratt (1913–1990), who had helped design the game, presented it to Waddingtons' executive Norman Watson, who immediately purchased it and provided its trademark name of Cluedo (a play on "clue" and "Ludo", the Latin word for "I play" and the name of a popular board game based on Pachisi). The design of the house in the game is reputed to be based on what was the Tudor Close Hotel in Rottingdean, Brighton and Hove, with early editions of the game being titled "Murder at Tudor Close.” Although the patent was granted in 1947, postwar shortages postponed the game's official United Kingdom launch until 1949. It was simultaneously licensed to Parker Brothers in the United States for publication, where it was renamed Clue.

For the challenge, I would like to see a black & white (or sepia tone) photo to represent the “vintage” 1949 board game. Also, please use a cursive or connected title inspired by the font on the box
