Cookin' up Creations is pleased to announce that our February 2020 Chef of the Month is Lolis Flores!!

Lolis is an active member in our small community here and has been with us since I brought the site back in March of 2017!!

She is an extremely talented individual and has shared numerous creations with us in the gallery, as well as making a few personalized Cookin' Up Creations T-Shirts!

I appreciate the fact that she checks in here daily (when she can), and continues to helps us as we strive to grow by inviting her friends . . . so please help me Congratulate Lolis as our February 2020 Chef of the Month.

Bio: I’ve lived in Rio Grande City, Texas with my wonderful husband for over 25 years. We have two handsome, amazing, and caring sons who are currently living in Albuquerque, New Mexico due to their work and career interests.

What do you enjoy most about scrapbooking?
I love holding a small story of our life on a page, reminding me of the great times that are happening way to fast. Working on this pages is like stopping time or going back on time. Also, it reminds me how blessed I am to have this wonderful life.
... and I just love the smell of scrap book paper.

Any advice for the new scrappers out there?
Journal. Write something on your pages. If you are unsure about expressing yourself, include a quote, a poem, or a song. Write something even If it is just the date. I know I’ve regretted plenty of times not writing on some of my pages. The pages that everyone enjoys the most are the ones where I included some writing.

Describe your style, your scrapping place, and your favorite products.
My style: I’m a risk taker, and I like to try new ideas or techniques. I like clean layouts and heavily embellished layouts, too.

My scrapping place: I have three scrapping areas in my house, and I often invade the rest of the house.

Favorite products: I love paper and all my paper cutters, especially the Cricut Maker.

What and/or Who inspires you? Do you find that it changes? Where do you get your inspiration from?
Sometimes I’m inspired by the paper, sometimes is the pictures, and many times is a scrapbook challenge.

What do you do for a living?
I’ve been a teacher for 21 years. Currently I teach 6th grade World History.

Describe your perfect day.
My perfect day would include spending time playing with scrapbooking supplies, and not worrying about work or cooking.

What's your favorite indulgence? Snack?
My favorite indulgence is a cup of coffee and a piece of cheesecake ( I have a keto friendly recipe)

What's one thing you would like to learn that is NOT scrapbook related?
I would love to learn how to sing. However, not knowing hasn’t stopped me from doing it. :p

What's your favorite layout and why:
I don’t really have a favorite layout. I love all the pages I make. I chose this one because it is such a fun page! I like how I used a whole bunch of stickers!
