Chef of the Month - December 2020 Deanna Deaton

Cookin' Up Creations is pleased to announce that our "Chef of the Month" for December 2020 is our very own . . .Deanna Deaton!
Deanna has been a Member of the Cookin' up Creations community for just a few months now, and is actually an active Member of our very talented Challenge Team. She's brought many challenges to the board over the past few months, and has helped get the Cookin' up Creations name out there!!

Introduce Yourself to our Members with a Short Bio:
I grew up on a farm in West Virgina. 25 yrs. ago we moved to Southeastern Ohio to be closer to my husband's work. I've been married to my highschool sweetheart and the most understanding man for 42 years. We have 3 adult kids...1 son and 2 daughters who have given us the joys of our life....our 9 beautiful grandkids ranging from 5 to 19 yrs old!
What inspired You to Start scrapbooking?
The upcoming birth of our first granddaughter over 19 years ago. I thought it would be wonderful to preserve memories for her.
What do you enjoy most about scrapbooking?
Besides keeping memories, I enjoy the creative process. I've been a crafter of many sorts my whole life.
Do you have a scrapbooking style? If so, describe it for us.
Not sure I have a special style. I love to use lots of patterned paper and it's so fun to use mixed media.
What are some of your current favorite products to use?
I love using mixed media and stencils. Just adds a perfect touch to your projects.
What is your very favorite color combo to use?
Probably my favorite would be anything in combination with teal. You can add tan, peach, pink and they all work well.
What are some of the things that inspire you?
Challenges and Sketches inspire me to use products in often a different way than I normally would.
Tell us about your scrapbooking space:
I'm fortunate that I have a separate room for scrapbooking which used to be a bedroom. Everything is organized and often easy to find.
What do you do for a living?
I'm a stay-at-home wife and Nana for whenever the grandkids need me.
What would be YOUR perfect day?
A day spent relaxing at the beach. I find it so comforting and peaceful.
What is your favorite indulgence?
A nice seafood lunch at Red Lobster.
Chocolate - Milk, Dark or White?
Milk Chocolate!
What is YOUR favorite type of Challenge?
Sketch Challenge. I love that it's a great starting point.
What has been your Favorite "themed" month since you've joined Cookin' up Creations? Why?
October Paper Pad Bashing. I had never done that and I love working with the same products and trying to use them up.
What's one thing you'd like to learn that's NOT scrapbook related?
More about my computer. I just always rely on my husband to fix things.
Do you have a Favorite Layout? If so, please share it with us and why.
I just love this one of my Mom with my youngest little granddaughter Lucy from April 2009.
I was using bits and pieces from the October Paper Pad Bash and I was able to use some machine stitching and misting.
