MARCH 2019 BIRTHDAY BASH CELEBRATION MARCH 2: PHOTO ADDED

Yes, the Cookin' Up Creations forum is celebrating our second birthday (again!) and you're invited!!!!
Join us all month long in March as we celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Cookin' up Creations . . .the 2nd time around. We'll be celebrating with challenges about all things birthday-related ... the day itself, the person, the gifts, food, games, new life in general (Spring)/ Newness......the possibilites are limitless...
As always, the monthly prize will be a $10 gift certificate to the online store of the winner's choice. If we have 50 or more completed layouts/projects entered by the April 3 deadline, that prize will increase to a $20 gift certificate!
Challenges are posted each Wednesday and Saturday throughout the month. Please post all completed projects to the Members' Gallery AND in the corresponding challenge thread no later than April 3. For each project entered, you will receive one entry in the prize drawing. (Winner is chosen by a random drawing) You may enter challenges more than once.
Now for the first Birthday challenge, LET THEM EAT CAKE!!!!!!
No birthday party is complete without a birthday cake.... so for this challenge, your layout, TWO cards or other papercraft project needs to include a cake with candles, fancy frosting or decorations of some kind that scream "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
My granddaughter Isla celebrated her first birthday in February, so I was able to snag some cute photos (courtesy of her mommy, aunt and grandma Betsy). Here is my resulting layout:
UPDATE: I'm so sorry that I didn't get my layout completed and posted Saturday. My mom's dementia was in full swing for the past couple of days, making her restless and a bit agitated. It reminded me of my days running after my toddlers, trying to avert disasters and keep them out of trouble. She is much better today, thankfully.

Kidding aside, I'm in the process of gathering my materials to make another PAPER cake. Probably won't eat that one! Be back soon.
