January 18 Challenge - First to Now

Post by Tracey »

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' Up Creations Gallery.

I challenge you to get out your very first layout you ever scrapped and draw inspiration from it to create a new layout, make sure you use something old that you used on your first one.

EDITED: To add, if you don't have your first layout then use your oldest that you do have.

Here is mine.

For me I took inspiration from the topic and scrapped my dogs again, I fussy cut (the dog paw print in the old and the gingerbread men in the new) and I added brads.... something I haven't used in many years.

Here is my new layout inspired by my first.

Prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

*Any month that we have more than 50 completed layouts/creations, the prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate instead of $10.]

Yikes! I started scrapping over 20 year ago & have no clue what my 1st layout was! I'm sure it was a layout about my grandson, but all his albums are up in his apartment in Jacksonville & he's out on patrol until the beginning of March!

Love both of your layouts! It's so fun to see how much your style has changed!
Daily Forecast: Scrapping with a chance of chocolate.

I'm with Terri. I have absolutely no idea what my first LO was. That was 20+ years ago! I'm not sure what I did yesterday!

I absolutely love this challenge! I have been scrapbooking since I was 10 and my first book is construction paper and cardstock. I went with my first creative memories scrapbook when I did my childhood. So this is the first in the book back in the days that we did more stamping. I stamped the title, the wedding cake and the journaling block. I fussy cut the roses for embellishments

What a cool challenge and great takes so far!

I’m kind of scared to go back and look at my first layout (over 20 years ago)
