We do some at both times. That makes the time together more special. We open gifts from each other on Christmas Eve and then have our presents from Santa (always unwrapped) on Christmas morning
First things Christmas morning is when we usually opened gifts. Now that the kids are grown and have their own families. They open at their homes first thing. Ours is usually Christmas afternoon.
