"We do not see nature with our eyes, but with our understandings and our hearts." ~ William Hazlett
Most people focus on the beauty of nature. However, Mother Nature touches us much more deeply. Nature isn’t about how it looks. Instead, nature is about how it makes us feel and how it touches us deep in our hearts. .
Join us all month long as we post challenges based on the the Glorious Beauty of Mother Nature and her Four Seasons.
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....
Happy New Year! I have spent the last week going back and forth between my home in Ohio and my daughter's new home in Washington DC. She works at the Capitol, and while I was walking there to meet her for lunch, I spotted this gorgeous holly bush in full bloom. Then we took a private tour of the building, and had our picture taken on the Speaker's balcony with the Capitol's Christmas tree behind us. So, for this project, I decided to celebrate winter in all it's beautiful plant forms. My challenge to you is to not only use this fun sketch from Sketch N Scrap to create your project, but also to feature vegetation in some way on your project. Perhaps you want to scrap a picture of your Christmas tree on Christmas morning? Or maybe the ground on the first snowfall of the winter? I'm excited to see your winter/nature projects!
Here is my sketch...
