October 2024 - Simon Says (Recipe Challenges)

Simon says use this . . . Simon says use that. . . Join us all month long as "Simon" commands us to use so many fun and exciting things on our creations.
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

Simon says:
Use the sketch below
Create a monochromatic layout
Make your own embellishments
Use twine, thread or ribbon
And do it all in 30 minutes or less.
Don't worry if your layout is not completely finished. You can go back and finish it to your liking after you have uploaded it. The goal is to see what our strengths and weaknesses are when we create a layout. My weakness is titles and journaling, which I always save to last.
I found the sketch on Pinterest, printed my photo last night and I already had an "idea" of which paper I wanted to use. Everything else was done in 30 minutes and that included cutting out my die cuts with my Cuttlebug.
Here's the sketch by Liz Chidester

And here's my layout. I will need to go back and add a title, journaling and maybe some splatters and buttons.
