] Join us all month long as we post challenges based on the exclusive and often trend-setting designs that we call Fashion.
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing)
Since NYC Fashion Week has been around for 80 years, there have been many trends to come and go and likely come back again a time or two. For today’s challenge, I want you to pick any year between 1943 and 2023 that has personal significance to you and find an image or two from that years show and use those to inspire you layout. For me, I chose 2007, the year I graduated from high school. I found two inspiration photos and used the colors to inspire my layout choices and I also included some larger bling pieces inspired by the chunky red necklace.

This look is from Fashion Week 2020, the year my second daughter was born, the year my life became complete. I was inspired by the color scheme as well as the "rainbow" of stripes.
