Monday 7/8: Sketch & National Parks Challenge

Join us all month long as we pay homage to all things associated with the culture and history of America . . . whether it be apple pie, hot dogs, or baseball . . .we each have something that makes us feel nostalgic and proud of our great USA!
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....
Hello everyone! Today I'm paying homage to the USA's National Parks. My husband & I love to go to Gettysburg National Park in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It is hard for me to imagine that this beautiful stretch of land was the site of so much destruction during the Civil War. I've taken so many pictures there over the years, that I decided it would be the perfect subject matter for an Americana themed project. My challenge to you is to not only use this fun sketch by Lisa Hidy at Sketch N Scrap, but to also create a project featuring a park. Maybe it's an amusement park? Or maybe a National Park like I used? Or maybe your favorite hometown park that you like to visit? As an added bonus, add a star somewhere on your project to go along with the Americana theme. I'm excited to see your projects!
