RQOTD: August 22nd

Post by LisanTexas »

Do you enjoy yard work?
I have to say I don't but my son and I would do our own up until he moved out. I thought it was a good way to teach him a good work ethic and responsibility so we did it together until he got old enough to do it on his own and that was his main household chore. Once he moved out I hired it done...then when I was furloughed during the pandemic I couldn't afford to pay for it anymore so I had to start doing it myself :( However, it turned out to be a good thing and I am still doing it myself even though I am back at work as I really feel it is good exercise and I feel better after I do it!

not a yard work fan. I must of pulled too many weeds as a kid! DH believes in keeping the yard easy so we don't have a lot of lower beds. :( WE now live in an association and they to the yardwork so that is nice. I started putting plastic flowers in my bicycle basket after the fresh ones not growing so well in the heat. This year we didn't even put flower pots out front. We are bad!

My husband does the outside, and I do the inside. So I don't typically do yard work except for weeding flower beds from time to time. Plus working outside is his sanity saver so I let him have his fun! Not to mention, I have horrible allergies and end up covered in hives if I'm messing with flowers and the garden too long. My girls do enjoy working with him outside. SO I'm perfectly fine with this arrangement!

No! Years ago I used to spend all my free time in my flower beds and helped mow the yard too, but then Scrapbooking came along and I hardly do anything like that. DH got a riding mower so he does that and one of the grandsons comes up to help weed eat and mow.

I don’t do any yard work. I don’t even like to be outside since it gets so hot! Besides I have allergies and asthma! The only outdoor activity I enjoy is bike riding.

Shawn and Garrett take care of it here. . .I have been known to cut grass on occasion, but rarely have the opportunity to do so anymore.

Scrapbooking....is there really anything else?

I do most of it. DH will mow once in awhile but because I'm home I usually do it so he doesn't have to spend his time off doing it.

We have quite a bit of yard and for the most part I keep it mowed with a riding mower. I pretty much keep the grass mowed around both houses, weed eat around my own and Kyle does the rest. I do it because it gives me a much needed break from the dogs. I mow and then I'm right back under the ac. During the cooler months we both get outside and work and trim trees and branches. We are in the process of reclaiming the old pasture and pecan orchard. This fall and winter it is our intention to clear the underbrush around the old windmill and potting shed. It was something Jack wanted to do but never got the chance to.
