February 2025 - Fairy Tales
On February 26th we Celebrate "National Tell a Fairy Tale Day" - But why not celebrate it all MONTH long?? This month we intend to do just that! Let's celebrate the folklore genre and the stories of magic, enchantments and mythical beings that all take place "Once Upon a Time".
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....
For the last challenge of the month we will take inspiration from Snow White. Pick at least 3 elements from the list to include on your layout.
1. Color: Blue
2. Nature: include outdoor photos and leafy embellishments, which tie into Snow White’s connection with the forest.
3. Embellishments: Add some filmstrips
4. The Magic Apple – Incorporate something red (a bold accent color, an apple motif, or even a pop of a warm hue).
5. Storybook Layers – Add vintage touches like distressed edges, inked papers, or stacked layers to resemble the pages of an old fairy tale book.
6. Dwarfs’ Whimsy – Use small clusters of embellishments, playful patterns, or a mix of textures to capture the charm of the seven dwarfs.
