For scrapbook enthusiasts, this opens up endless creative possibilities—capturing vibrant county fair memories, documenting visits to local dairy farms, or designing layouts featuring iconic Wisconsin cheese. Whether it's a themed challenge that encourages scrappers to incorporate cow prints, milk cartons, or rolling green pastures into their pages, or a personal project celebrating family traditions tied to dairy, this month offers inspiration galore. A scrapbook challenge centered around Dairy Month could push crafters to experiment with farm-themed embellishments, nostalgic photos, or heartfelt journaling about their favorite dairy treats. It’s a chance to preserve the flavors and festivities of Wisconsin’s dairy legacy in a fun and artistic way!

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

Happy Saturday everyone! Today we are using my favorite cheese for inspiration…cheese curds! They are delicious little pieces of curdled milk that can be eaten as is, deep fried, or part of the best prepared dish of all time: poutine!

The Challenge: Since cheese curds are small, let’s use small embellishments. Cheese curds are white, so use white space on your page. When used in poutine, they come with gravy and French fires. I can’t decide which additional ingredient I love more, the gravy or the French fries, so I’ll let you choose! If you love gravy, use brown in some way on your layout. If you love French fries, please use strips of paper.

In my example I used small buttons, white space between my triangles of patterned paper, brown ink on my edges, date stamp, and journaling, and paper strips at the bottom of my layout.

Happy scrapping!

Fun challenge, Amy Jo! Such a lovely page. I've never heard of poutine before and don’t think I’ve ever seen it on a menu, now I’m curious!

I am not a fan of poutine. My fries need to stay crispy!
