Sat 8/2 - Traditions

This month at Cookin’ Up Creations, we’re turning our creative tanks into aquariums of inspiration! Whether your scrappy stash is teeming with color or hiding a few quirky surprises like that one-eyed googly fish, we’re challenging you to open the lid and show us what’s swimming inside. From bubbly embellishments and underwater hues to layouts that make waves with motion and texture, this month we’ll explore a different part of your crafty ecosystem. Think of it like cleaning out your fish tank—only way more fun and way less smelly.

It’s time to check the filter, stir the waters, and let your creativity flow free. What’s in your tank? Let’s find out—one page at a time.

What always seems 'to be in my tank' is leftover stickers. I've been trying to clean out some of my 'odd ball' stickers. I have a sheet of these alien type and science stickers. I challenge you to scrap a tradition in your family + some odd stickers + twine. :)

We have a tradition of tping our kids places when they turn 40. This is some of us tping our youngest daughter Michelle's place, July 2024. :)

Oh my goodness! And I’m not referring to the TP, It’s hard to picture you and your husband with children over 40! You must have gotten married very young. Great challenge! I love the title.

We may have got away with doing that as a child but now it is considered something that you no longer do unless you want a ticket from the cops. My brother was a count Sheriff and my cousin asked him what happens if an adult is with the kids. His reply, I can arrest them along with the kids and give them a ticket for littering. One other time my brother stopped some kids in the TP process and had them clean it up while he watched them.

Love the pics!!! and great challenge.

Yeah, we were high school sweethearts and got married after I graduated. Being alittle younger I'm glad that we can enjoy our 9 grandkids and run to their activities.

we've never had problems with the cops, but everyone lives in the country and we always clean up.

The tradition is the stair-step picture that is taken almost every time all 6 cousins are together. The oldest is now living on his own, working, and the youngest is now taller than her brother, so I'm not sure when/how the next one will be taken. I give all my weird stickers away.

The stickers I used were the number ones for the date, which date back to one of the earliest Simple Stories kits, and the triangle, which were part of a Bella Blvd kit that dates back around 10 years and have separated from the adhesive backing, so they were in the toss pile.
