RQOTD June 4th 2017

Post by SusieQ »

How do you celebrate birthdays in your family?

Tomorrow is my oldest grandsons 17th birthday, he has a concert tomorrow night so we wI'll celebrate today. We use to go out to dinner bit have been trying to cut back on that so instead I usually make their favorite meal but I have been overwhelmed with Dylan new feeding tube so I think it might be dinner out.

Unless someone throws a party it's dinner out. As for the boys and I, it can be anything.......dinner out, dinner in, take out, drive thru or grilling out. If it's Kyle's birthday I will bake him a cake....usually a simple sheet cake with frosting so that he can put it in the fridge and eat on it for a few days. We kinda suck at celebrating! :D

Nothing really major for us here.....for Garrett though, we give him pound cake for breakfast (his favorite) and Angel food cake for dinner (with the candle) or vice versa. He's not big on traditional cakes with icing. We always take him out unless he requests other wise.

My MIL, on the other hand, always has a dinner for us....and gifts, and the whole nine yards! She even has a chair that she calls "the birthday chair" that we get to sit in, sign our name on the back and have pics taken....

Scrapbooking....is there really anything else?
